Our Alpaca herd is a representation of some of the finest genetics available in today's Alpaca Industry. They were extensively selected by leading Alpaca Breeders and various experts from all corners of the globe. On our farm you will see alpacas from Chile, Peru, Bolivia, Australia and USA.

Using knowledge gained from our combined experience of over 20 years in raising superior Alpacas along with extensive fibre expertise and research, we chose these Alpacas for their excellence in fibre characteristics. We believe they meet all standards of excellence in fineness, crimp, uniformity and density. As well, they exhibit superior quality in conformation and overall appearance.

 Each season when determining our breeding program, we review shear weights, past histograms, color probabilities, and progeny quality produced by previous breeding decisions. As well, we evaluate the existing pedigree on each animal to determine what mating will add the most genetic gain while preserving our color objectives and adding marketing value to the resulting pedigree. Ultimately, genetic breeding value is what will determine the marketing value of our alpacas as the industry matures. That is why at Amber Autumn Alpacas we have purchased herd sires and breeding females that have proven genetics and are well recognized in the North American alpaca industry.
