Are alpacas dangerous? PDF Print E-mail
Definitely not! Alpacas are gentle, curious little animals. They can not bite as they do not have teeth on their upper palate, but the friendlier alpacas will nibble on your clothing to attract attention. If startled from behind they will kick as that is the only way they can protect themselves, but their little padded hooves do not have much impact and seldom cause any injury.
